This document covers the warranty and other provisions thereto regarding the following products

- Warranty:
- The Warranty is for the replacement of the Product of an amount equivalent to the Product cost and the labour costs for re-application of the Product due to CoatingFailure in the affected portion only.
"Coating Failure" shall mean the following:-
- Film integrity, flaking, peeling and blistering of the Products, caused by one coat of the Product coming off from another or the Product film coming off from the substrate
- Growth of fungi and algae on wall surfaces* (at least spread over contiguous area of a minimum area of10 sq feet) on all Products listed above.
- Failure of waterproofing, viz., water ingress from exteriors through the coatings in exterior walls.
- The aforesaid labour costs.
will be determined by the Company based on prevailing market labour rates on per sq.ft. rate or on daily wages rate and the same will not be disputed by the Customer (asdefined hereinafter) at any point of time. - The warranty will not cover Coating Failure due to factors which are beyond the control of the Company, including but not limited to:
- Structural defects, moss and other vegetative growth, excessive bird droppings/spitting, water leakage and seepage in the building structure and continuous dampness of the surface, staining due to plant pots, efflorescence, water-logging / stagnant water.
- Natural calamities such as earthquakes, cyclones and flooding
- Failure or defects in the structure or previous coating, or any repair work undertaken or removal or tampering with any part of the treated portion.
- Damage caused by vandalism, accidents and fire
- Acts of God
- Abuse or negligence by the Customer
- Improper surface preparation
- Surface with contaminants
- Normal wear and tear
- Misuse of the Products
- Wilfully inflicted damage
- Exposure to chemicals, acids or fumes
- Failure to follow instructions/TDS
- Any act or omission on the part of the contractor/painter causing Products or theapplication of Products, to be defective by any means.
- The Warranty shall be subject to the terms, conditions and provisions mentioned herein.
- Applicability of Warranty:
- The Warranty shall apply only:
- To the end user / beneficiary of the Products i.e. the owner of the site on which theProducts have been applied (“Customer”).
- If the total volume of Product usage on a particular site exceeds 300 litres on a single site.
- If the Registration for request for warranty is made by the Customer 15 days prior to the commencement of application of the Product and
- If the quantity of Products used for particular size of area is in accordance with the parameters defined in the relevant technical data sheet (“TDS”)) for the Products. Customer must ensure the contractor carries out application as per TDS of theProduct being used.
- If all the exterior walls of the building/s is also treated with the Product
- If the application of Product is on exterior wall surfaces only.
- If the Product is purchased either directly from the Company or through itsauthorized channel partners.
- Upon satisfactory completion of the 3 stage inspection of the exterior surface undergoing waterproofing by the authorized representative of the Company following the registration of warranty. All vertical walls of the building including all horizontal protrusions like chajjas/sunshades must be coated with the Product asper the Technical Data Sheet.
- If a claim is made forthwith, however not later than 30 (Thirty) days of the Customer discovering any defect, damage or failure which gives rise to a claim, the Customer shall provide full details thereof, setting out the basis for the claim. The Company reserves the right to carry out inspections of the application process of the Product, in which the relevant Product is alleged to have failed and to perform any tests in respect thereof, and may do so either itself or by means of any person nominated by it.
- The warranty will be valid only in the following places in India
Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nasik, Goa, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Kochi, Trivandrum, Kozhikode, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Noida, Kolkata, Siliguri, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, Patna, Indore, Bhopal, Raipur
- Commencement and Duration
- This Warranty shall commence from the date of first purchase of the Products by the Customer (Commencement Date) provided Product is consumed within 90 days of the date of purchase and shall be subject to the conditions mentioned herein.
- The Warranty shall be applicable for a specific period as detailed above, from the Commencement Date on all performance parameters as detailed herein. It is clarified that where any claim arises during the warranty period, the period will commence only from the Commencement Date of warranty even after settlement of the claim.
- Exclusions
- The Products under this warranty are application based and might be affected by various external factors or combinations thereof.
- The Warranty will be void in the following events:
- Intermittent dripping of water due to proximity of vegetation or air-conditioningunits or any other sources of water leakage like potted plants, plants or waterflow from overhead tank etc.
- Water penetration due to capillary rise from the ground level, including waterleakage, seeping and continuous dampness of the surface.
- Growth of algae or fungus on surfaces other than exterior walls where theProducts have been applied.
- The Product is not consumed within 90 (ninety) days from the date of purchase.
- Dampness from internal walls due to leakages from bathrooms, kitchens etc.
- In case a portion of the surface has not been treated with the Product.
- Fading and chalking as a result of use of Products in coastal areas.
- Liability
- The Company’s maximum liability is limited to the repair of the Coating Failure (including labour cost) in the affected portion to the extent of the value equal to the original purchase price of the Products (“replacement cost”). The Company shall not have any other liability or responsibility irrespective of any representation or assurance given by any party.
- The Company’s liability will reduce over the warranty period according to the following scaleas per the applicable Product:
Raincoat Classic:
- In the first 12 months after Commencement Date - 100% of replacement cost
- After month 12 to month 24 after Commencement Date - 80% of replacement cost
- After month 24 to month 36 after Commencement Date - 60% of replacement cost
- After month 36 to month 48 after Commencement Date - 40% of replacement cost
- After month 48 to month 60 after Commencement Date - 30% of replacement cost
- After month 60 to month 84 after Commencement Date - 20% of replacement cost
- The Company, in its sole discretion shall be entitled to appoint a contractor and / or approvethe contractor appointed by the Customer.
- The Customer will be liable for all other costs excluding Product replacement cost andlabour as covered in this document.
- The Company will not be liable for any other cost or indirect or consequential loss or incidental damages or any loss of income, profits or contracts to the Customer or to any other person. Notwithstanding anything mentioned herein, the Customer's exclusive and sole remedy under this Warranty shall be as mentioned in Clause II - Warranty and no other express or implied warranty is provided.
- This Warranty disclaims any liabilities, in contract, tort or otherwise including negligence and strict liability. There are no warranties expressed or implied under law, which extend beyond the warranty set out herein
- General Provisions:
- If any dispute arises between the Company and the Customer, in respect of the Warranty, the decision of Mr. Sanjay Bahadur, CEO of Construction Chemical division, Pidilite Industries Limited will be final and binding.
- This warranty shall be subject to the exclusive Jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai.
- The facts and all matters concerning any dispute will be kept confidential by both the Customer and the Company at all times.
- Terms, Conditions and other provisions of the warranty are subject to change
- Any reference to Company shall mean Pidilite Industries Limited
- To Register Warranty(This section is only for the information of the Customer and shall not affect the interpretation of the sections hereinabove. In case of any conflict between this section and the prior ones, the prior sections will prevail.)
- For Registration of a site call our Dr. Fixit Advice Centre on 1800-209-5504 and provide Customer name, contact details and approximate exterior surface area to be coated.
- Registration of Request for warranty to be made by the Customer 15 days prior to the commencement of application of the Products.
- In order to make this warranty valid, as per terms outlined, it is essential that request for Registration of Warranty is being made by the Customer.
- The Company's representative will pre-inspect the surface to be coated and if the inspection is satisfactory, handover the Products check list provided. In case the pre-inspection is found to be unsatisfactory, corrective measures will be suggested and additional pre-inspection will be carried out till site conditions are satisfactory to proceed with Raincoat Classic system application for registration of warranty
- Note
- The pre inspection checklist/report is only for water proofing and should not be used as a substitute for proper structural check/audit of the building.
- Satisfactory pre-application inspection shall be conducted 7 days prior to the commencement of the work
- Satisfactory inspection during Products application should be conducted after completion of each coat days from the commencement of the application.
- Satisfactory post-application inspection should be conducted within ten working days of the completion of the application
- Inspection under this Warranty to be carried out by the Company’s representative assigned to the site.
- Final warranty certificate will be issued after satisfactory validation of completed site by authorized representative of the Company. Such validation does not imply approval by the Company of the method of application or compliance with the conditions of warranty but is merely a validation of proper purchase entitling the Customer to the warranty in accordance with the terms and conditions of this warranty.
- The Company at its sole discretion may appoint a person to inspect and validate the application of the Products as per the directions specified.
- Upon registration, a Unique Warranty Id will be generated, which will be the reference code for the Customer for future communication.
- The customer shall attach stamped receipt of purchase to the warranty letter and retain the same during tenure of the warranty.
- The Customer may call on 1800-209-5504 if he experiences a problem or have any questions regarding the Warranty. An authorized representative of the Company would contact the Customer within 7 (seven) working days from the date of enquiry.

INSPECTION Checklist for Dr. Fixit Raincoat Classic system work procedure
Areas of application: All exterior cement-sand plastered walls / concrete surfaces
Pre-application -Checklist: Do's and Dont's
- All cementitious substrates to be well cured at least for 6 – 8 weeks
- Check for external and internal plumbing leakages if any and to be rectified properly
- Check soundness of plaster. De-bonded plaster to be repaired appropriately
- Check the existing paint -Cement paint if any, to be removed as best as possible.
- Coating not recommended on synthetic enamels, bituminous paints
- Coating not recommended on any putty applied and on very smooth surfaces
- Confirm with the client about the desired shades for the various elevation of building
- Confirm the shades selected by physical sampling at site and retain the sample.
- Carry out proper surface preparation - like widening the cracks with 'V' groove, cleaning thoroughly with clean water and application of crack filler or polymermodified mortar as required
- Ensure chajjas, overhangs, etc. are properly sloped, angle fillet at joints.
- Ensure crack filling is done with crack filler and for cracks > 5mm by polymer modified mortar
- Ensure proper curing of all repairing works
- Plan for proper manpower arrangement to carry out the job
- Ensure for sufficient quantity of safety gear like safety belts, helmets etc.
- Prepare a schedule of the work with bar chart, for the entire job
- Assess the quantity of all materials required for the job and check its availability
During application -Checklist:
- Note batch nos and manufacturing dates of all materials received at site
- Ensure proper curing of all repairing works
- Clean the area with removal of dust, algae, efflorescence etc. and clean with water
- Ambient temperature during application shall not be too low (<5℃) or too high (>40℃)
- Do not apply during rainy season or if there is risk of raining as it will spoil the work
- Saturate the surface well with water prior to application
- Shake well the contents before opening and stir well during mixing and application Ensure that coating work starts early morning (7.00 AM) to avoid coating under direct sunlight.
- Plan in a way that direct sunlight during coating is avoided.
- Apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Primeseal diluting 2 parts primer : 1 part water of, in case of fresh painting with the Raincoat Classic system. In case of repainting, application of Primeseal is not necessary if the current surface is in sound condition.
- Pot life of mixed primer is about 45 minutes hence consume the material within stipulated time period
- Ensure proper coverage of primer – 8-10 m2 /ltr / coat
- Allow to dry for 4 to 6 hrs
- Shake well the contents before opening and keep stirring during application
- Apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Raincoat Universal base coat without any dilution with a coverage of 3.5 to 4 sq m per Litre. Allow it to dry for 6-8 hours before applying Dr.Fixit Raincoat Classic top coat at a coverage of 7 to 8 sq m per Litre
- Allow air curing for 7 days
- In case of a repainting (surface that has been painted before), there is no need for application of Primeseal if the surface is stable, i.e., no flaking, peeling and loose particles on the surface
Post Application Checklist :
- Note date of completion of coating
- Check appearance of the surface for – finish, lustre, levelling, opacity etc so as to get no telegraphing and uniform finish
- Ensure that containers and brushes are properly cleaned.
- Ensure proper cleaning of area (house-keeping).
- The waste material has not been thrown down the drain but disposed off properly.
- List of do & don’ts to take care and take corrective measures if any faults observed
Precautions and limitations:
- “Do not Dilute” Dr. Fixit Raincoat range
- Stir contents well before use
- Do not apply on very smooth and putty applied surfaces
- Avoid coating on damp substrates
- In case of fresh painting, Apply Dr. Fixit Raincoat range within 48 hrs of Primeseal application. Application of Primeseal will not be necessary in case of repainting in case the existing substrate is in sound condition.
- Apply extra coat on rain lashed walls and on critical areas like parapet / chhajjas etc.
- The coverage may vary according to the nature and texture of substrate.
- Ensure proper coverages of material by conducting a trial prior to execution of work toderive coverage for guesstimating the material consumption
- Note all details (Batch No. / date etc.) of the material received for further references.

- Do not apply during rainy season or if there is risk of raining as it will spoil the work
- Saturate the surface well with water prior to application
- Shake well the contents before opening and stir well during mixing and application Ensure that coating work starts early morning (7.00 AM) to avoid coating under direct sunlight.
- Plan in a way that direct sunlight during coating is avoided.
- Apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Primeseal diluting 2 parts primer : 1 part water of, in case of fresh painting with the Raincoat Classic system. In case of repainting, application of Primeseal is not necessary if the current surface is in sound condition.
- Pot life of mixed primer is about 45 minutes hence consume the material within stipulated time period
- Ensure proper coverage of primer – 8-10 m2 /ltr / coat
- Allow to dry for 4 to 6 hrs
- Shake well the contents before opening and keep stirring during application
- Apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Raincoat Universal base coat without any dilution with a coverage of 3.5 to 4 sq m per Litre. Allow it to dry for 6-8 hours before applying Dr.Fixit Raincoat Select at a coverage of 6-6.5 sq m per Litre
- Allow air curing for 7 days
- In case of a repainting (surface that has been painted before), there is no need for application of Primeseal if the surface is stable, i.e., no flaking, peeling and loose particles on the surface
Post Application Checklist :
- Note date of completion of coating
- Check appearance of the surface for – finish, lustre, levelling, opacity etc so as to get no telegraphing and uniform finish
- Ensure that containers and brushes are properly cleaned.
- Ensure proper cleaning of area (house-keeping).
- The waste material has not been thrown down the drain but disposed off properly.
- List of do & don’ts to take care and take corrective measures if any faults observed
Precautions and limitations:
- “Do not Dilute” Dr. Fixit Raincoat range
- Stir contents well before use
- Do not apply on very smooth and putty applied surfaces
- Avoid coating on damp substrates
- In case of fresh painting, Apply Dr. Fixit Raincoat range within 48 hrs of Primeseal application. Application of Primeseal will not be necessary in case of repainting in case the existing substrate is in sound condition.
- Apply extra coat on rain lashed walls and on critical areas like parapet / chhajjas etc.
- The coverage may vary according to the nature and texture of substrate.
- Ensure proper coverages of material by conducting a trial prior to execution of work toderive coverage for guesstimating the material consumption
- Note all details (Batch No. / date etc.) of the material received for further references.
Dr Fixit Roofseal Top Coat Warranty
Pidilite Industries Limited (“Company”) (hereinafter referred to as the Warrantor) offers 7 Year Waterproofing and five (5) years Anti-algal and Anti-fungal warranty on Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat, when applied according accordance with the parameters defined in the relevant technical data sheet (“TDS”) for the Product on entire horizontal roof with properly prepared surface, from the date of purchase of the product, subject to the following terms, conditions and limitations.
- Extent and Applicability of Warranty
- The Warranty shall apply only:
- For sites where the consumption exceeds 100 litres, the warranty shall be applicable subjectto a satisfactory pre-inspection of the exterior surface to be coated by the authorizedrepresentative of the Company.
- For Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat warranty entire parapet walls need to be coated with Dr. FixitRoofseal Top Coat / Dr. Fixit Raincoat exterior coating system on both the sides of the wall.
- Only the surface that has been coated with Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat shall be coveredunder this warranty. The warranty shall not cover cases of water seepage from surfaces notcoated with Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat.
- The material is purchased either directly from the Company or through its authorizedchannel partners.
- Issuance of satisfactory completion certificate post completion of work by the authorizedrepresentative of the Company where the consumption of the product exceeds 100 litres
- In accordance with Liability as indicated in Section 5 the Company’s liability will be limited to providing replacement of Dr Fixit Roofseal Top Coat for re-application of coating, as may be necessary to set right the Coating Failure in the affected portion only.
- The words "Coating Failure" shall mean any of the following:-
- Failure of Waterproofing, viz., water ingress through the Coatings in roof.
- Film integrity, flaking and peeling of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat, caused by one coat of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat coming off from another or Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat film coming off from the substrate.
- Growth of fungus and algae on wall surfaces* (at least spread over a minimum area of 10 Sq. feet) *Please Note: The warranty on anti-algal/ anti-fungal performance is for a period of only five (5) years from the date of purchase.
- Warranty Registration
- For Registration of a site, call Dr. Fixit Advice Centre on 1800-209-5504 and provide customer name, site details, contact details and approximate roof surface area to be coated.
- For sites where the consumption of Roofseal Top Coat coating exceeds 100 litres, the Company's representative will pre-inspect the surface to be coated and if the inspection is satisfactory, handover the Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat check list. In case the pre-inspection is found to be unsatisfactory, corrective measures will be suggested.
- Note: The pre inspection checklist/report is only for waterproofing and should not be used as a substitute for proper structural check/audit of the building.
- Upon registration of the application, a Unique Warranty Id will be generated, which will be the reference code for the Customer for all future communication.
- Customer must ensure the contractor carries out application as per product data sheet and Roofseal Top Coat Application Checklist.

- For sites where the consumption of the product is more than 100 litres, the final warranty certificate will be issued after satisfactory validation of completed site by authorized representative of the Company within 10 days of the completion of the application of the coating. Such validation does not imply approval by the Company of the method of application or compliance with the conditions of warranty but is merely a validation of proper purchase entitling the customer to the warranty in accordance with the terms and conditions of this warranty.
- The customer shall attach stamped receipt of all purchases of the product to the warranty letter and retain the same during tenure of the warranty.
- The customer may call on 1800-209-5504 for any queries regarding the Warranty. An authorized representative of the Company would contact the customer within 2 working days from the date of enquiry.
- Commencement and Duration
- This Warranty shall commence from the date of purchase (“Commencement Date”) of the product, provided Dr Fixit Roofseal Top Coat is consumed within 90 days of the date of purchase.
- The Company at its sole discretion may appoint a person to inspect and validate the application of the Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top coat as per the directions specified.
- The Warranty shall be for a period of seven (7) years from the Commencement Date on all performance parameters except Algae and/or Fungal growth for which it will be for a period of five (5) Years from the Commencement Date.
- It is clarified that where any claim arises during the warranty period, the period will continue only from the original date of purchase and the Commencement Date of warranty shall always be the original date of purchase even after settlement of the claim.
- Notwithstanding anything mentioned herein, this warranty is the customer’s sole remedy and no other express or implied warranty is provided. This liability of the Company shall be strictly limited to the aforementioned obligations and is expressly provided that the Company shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential or incidental damages or any loss of income, profits or contracts whether caused by breach of contract, negligence, tort or otherwise.
- The Company’s maximum liability is limited to the amount of the original purchase price of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat only. No representative of the Company or any other person has any authority whatsoever to assume for the Company any other liability or responsibility.
- Application
This Warranty shall only be applicable where:-
- Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat has been used on roof surfaces only and that the entire roof including angle fillet area up to the height of 1 feet or below the terrace-parapet joint. The outer wall/ exterior parapet wall should be coated with Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat OR with Dr. Fixit Raincoatsystem on both the sides of the wall.
- All elements of Surface Preparation prior to the Application and application work have been done in accordance with the instructions provided for Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat with regard to surface preparation and Application as in the Product Data Sheet & Roofseal Top Coat Application Check list.
- Final coverage achieved after completion of the application of Dr Fixit Roofseal Top Coat, in accordance with the specified process, should be between 2 – 2.2 sq. mt. /ltr/coat.
- Liability
- The Company’s liability will reduce over the warranty period according to the following scale:
- In the first 12 months after Commencement Date - 100% of replacement cost
- After month 12 to month 24 after Commencement Date - 80% of replacement cost
- After month 24 to month 36 after Commencement Date - 60% of replacement cost
- After month 36 to month 48 after Commencement Date - 40% of replacement cost
- After month 48 to month 60 after Commencement Date - 30% of replacement cost
- After month 60 to month 84 after Commencement Date - 20% of replacement cost
- The Company’s Liability shall be limited to the cost of coating (Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat) only.
- The Company will not be liable for any other indirect or consequential loss or damages to the customer or to any other person. The customer's exclusive and sole remedy under this Warranty shall be as mentioned herein in this clause.
- Exclusions
- The Warranty will be void in the following events:
- Intermittent dripping of water due to proximity of vegetation or air-conditioning units or any other sources of water leakage like potted plants, plants, plumbing lines, broken water spout, or water flow from overhead tank etc.
- De bonding of the base (material used for leveling) from the surface & cracks formationon the same.
- Water ingress from areas not coated with Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat
- Inadequate maintenance of the roof leading to water logging.
- Growth of algae or fungus on surfaces other than masonry walls.
- Defects in the design of the building or roof design, including inadequate sloping, suboptimal number of drainages, settlement, movement or other structural defects.
- Exposure of the applied coating to damaging substances such as chemicals, solvents oroils.
- Building or structural changes carried out after the coating has been applied.
- Leaks or damages due to any additional installations on the coated surface or usage on the surface of pre-installed elements that is not consistent with recommended application.
- Surface exhibit plaster, screed failure or De bonding of base (material used for leveling)from the surfaces and crack formation on the same.
- Puncturing of cured membrane due to sharp objects, movements of heavy articles, fixingof antenna or other structures on the terrace.
- Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat is not consumed within 90 days of the date of purchase.
- The Warranty will cover only manufacturing defects of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat. The Warranty will not cover any defects arising out of factors out of control of the Company, including but not limited to:
- Coating failures due to structural defects, moss and other vegetative growth, continuous dampness of the surface, staining due to plant pots, efflorescence, water-logging / stagnant water
- There is a reduction of Gloss /Sheen/Ageing which is part of weathering process
- Natural calamities such as earthquakes, cyclones and flooding.
- Failure or defects in the structure or previous coating, or any repair work undertaken.
- Vandalism, accidents and fire
- Abuse or negligence by the Customer
- Causes other than defects in Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat
- Improper surface preparation
- Surface with contaminants
- Wilfully inflicted damage
- Any act or omission by the Painter/ Contractor/ Applicator caused the Roofseal Top Coat to be defective
- Claims and Repairs
- Any claim made in terms of this Warranty shall be made within 30 days of the consumer discovering any defect, damage or failure which gives rise to a claim.
- The consumer shall forthwith notify the Company of the claim providing full details thereof, and shall set out the basis on which it believes that the Company is liable in terms of the Warranty.
- The Company reserves the right to carry out inspections of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat application process, in which Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat is alleged to have failed and to perform any tests in respect thereof, and may do so either by itself or by means of any person nominated by it. Prior to such inspection or testing, the consumer shall not be entitled to perform any repairs to or remove or tamper with any part of the Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat.
- The Company shall use its best endeavours to ensure that Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat required for repairs is available as soon as possible at the place where the repairs are to be carried out, but does not assume liability for any delay caused in this respect.
- The warrantor reserves the right to change the system or material used for repair work for another suitable system or material if original system found to be obsolete or unavailable.
- The Company, in its sole discretion shall be entitled to
- Control/monitor re-coating which is to be carried out in accordance with all its specifications and instructions; and
- Appoint a contractor and/ or approve the contractor appointed by the Customer.
- Miscellaneous:
- This Warranty disclaims any liabilities, in contracts, tort or otherwise including negligence and strict liability. There are no warranties expressed or implied under law, which extend beyond the warranty set out herein.
- The facts and all matters concerning any dispute will be kept confidential by both the Customer and the company at all times.
- If any dispute arises between the Company and the Customer, in respect of the Warranty, the decision of CEO/ VP Services the decision of Construction Chemicals Division, Pidilite Industries Limited will be final and binding.
- This warranty shall be subject to the exclusive Jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai.
- Terms, Conditions and other provisions of the warranty are subject to change.
- Any reference to Company shall mean Pidilite Industries Limited
INSPECTION Checklist for Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat work procedure
Areas of application:Cementitious roof/ terrace surfaces
The system defined by this pre inspection check list/ report is only for waterproofing and should not be used as a substitute for proper structural check of building, repair construction or maintenance.
Pre-application Checklist: Do's and Dont's
- The concrete slab and all cementitious substrates to be well cured at least for 6–8 weeks.
- Ensure minimum slope of the roof slab is verified to be 1 in 100 or 1 in 80.
- Ensure that the drainage outlets are at a proper level and correctly installed. Also ensure that there are sufficient numbers of drainage outlets based on the area of the roof.
- Check soundness of plaster. Ensure loose portions have been removed and have been redone with Dr. Fixit MPB/ URP polymer modified mortar.
- Carry out proper surface preparation - like widening the hairline cracks with 'V' groove, cleaning thoroughly with clean water and application of Dr. Fixit Crack X for cracks up to 2 mm, and usage of Dr. Fixit MPB / URP polymer modified mortar for larger cracks. On the treated cracks, apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top coat sandwich a 45-50 gsm glass fibre mesh/ roll over it to reinforce larger cracks.
- If severe damages are observed to the soffits, then it is recommended that an inspection is carried out by a competent Structural Consultant.
- All loose dust, dirt, grease, moss, fungus etc. has been removed mechanically from the roof, cleaned and is ready for application of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat.
- Around the periphery of rainwater outlets (pipes), sandwich fibre mesh between two coats of Roofseal Top Coat.
- If the existing surface is done with Brick Bat Coba/ Cement Mortar Screed , then all the corners of the terrace to be made round; in case existing surface is screed, then triangular fillet has to be made before application of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat .
- All sharp edges, stones protrusions have been mechanically grounded to level the surface to prevent Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat from getting damaged.
- Plan for proper manpower arrangement.
- Ensure for sufficient quantity of safety gear like safety belts, helmets etc.
- Prepare a schedule of the work with bar chart, for the entire job.
- Assess the quantity of all materials required for the job and check its availability.
During application -Checklist:
- Note batch nos and manufacturing dates of all materials received at site
- Ensure that the Surface has been checked to be in a surface saturated dry condition. (Surface is moist but not wet. To check feel the surface with your palm, surface should be moist but with nofree water).
- Application temperature has been checked to be between 5 deg. and 40 deg. centigrade.
- Apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat as Self – Priming coat (Roofseal Top Coat to be diluted with clean potable water in the ratio of 2 parts primer and 1 part water).
- Allow the coat of Roofseal Top Coat Self -primer to dry for 3-4 hours.
- Apply 1st coat of Dr Fixit Roofseal Top Coat at the rate of 2 to 2.2 sq. mt. per litre/coat withoutany water dilution. Allow the first coat to dry for 6-8 hours
- Apply second coat of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat at the rate of 2 to 2.2 sq. mt. per litre/Coat without any water dilution, with brush or roller in one direction only as shown in Fig 1. Check tosee no void surface is left untreated / uncoated.
- Apply second coat of Dr Fixit Roofseal Top Coat application perpendicular to that of the first coat. Check to see no void surface is left uncoated with second coat. Allow second coat to dry for 6-8 hours. This would ensure correct consumption of material that will deliver to total DFT of 450 to 500 microns.
- Wash all application tools and hands etc., immediately with water after use.
- All corners, gaps, joints, protrusions & outlets to be coated with two extra coats.

Post Application Checklist :
- Protect the Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat coating with a polythene / Tarpaulin sheet if it is expected to rain within 72 hours after application of the second coat.
- Ensure Dr. Fixit Raincoat / Roofseal Top Coat is applied on both the sides of parapet wall.
- Do not use the Terrace/ roof after application of self-priming & two coats of Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat till it is air cured for 7 days.
- Carry out the water pond test up to 50mm after 7 days.
Precautions and limitations:
- “Do not Dilute” Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat.
- Stir contents well before use
- Do not apply on very smooth and putty applied surfaces
- Avoid coating on damp substrates
- Apply Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat within 48 hrs of Primeseal application.

- Do not apply Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat over expansion or moving joints.
- The product is designed only for foot traffic and not vehicular or movement of machinery or equipment.
- All corners, gaps, joints, Roof leak repair area & outlets shall be coated with two extra coats.
- Periodically clean the roof and check the water clogging near drain outlets but don’t pressures water wash the coating.
- Ensure proper coverages of material by conducting a trial prior to execution of work to derive coverage for guesstimating the material consumption.
- Note all details (Batch No. / date etc.) of the material received for further references.
- Do not allow any heavy instruments to be dragged on Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat applied surface; no new erection, fabrication, extension, dismantling should be done after Dr Fixit Roofseal Top Coat is applied.
- Do not use Terrace/ Roof applied with Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat for playing, partying etc. Dr Fixit Roofseal Top Coat is only for normal foot traffic.
- No fire work/ cooking stoves to be used on terrace above the Dr. Fixit Roofseal Top Coat.
All the above mentioned parameters are checked and verified for the pre- application, during application and post application work carried for the project.
Also followed and adhered to are the precautions mentioned in the list as mentioned by the manufacturer.

will be determined by the Company based on prevailing market labour rates on per sq.ft. rate or on daily wages rate and the same will not be disputed by the Customer (as defined hereinafter) at any point of time. - The warranty will not cover Coating Failure due to factors which are beyond the control of the Company, including but not limited to:
- Structural defects, moss and other vegetative growth, excessive bird droppings/spitting, water leakage and seepage in the building structure and continuous dampness of the surface, staining due to plant pots, efflorescence, water-logging / stagnant water.
- Natural calamities such as earthquakes, cyclones and flooding
- Failure or defects in the structure or previous coating, or any repair work undertaken or removal or tampering with any part of the treated portion.
- Damage caused by vandalism, accidents and fire
- Acts of God
- Abuse or negligence by the Customer
- Improper surface preparation
- Surface with contaminants
- Normal wear and tear
- Misuse of the Products
- Wilfully inflicted damage
- Exposure to chemicals, acids or fumes
- Failure to follow instructions/TDS
- Any act or omission on the part of the contractor/painter causing Products or theapplication of Products, to be defective by any means.
- The Warranty shall be subject to the terms, conditions and provisions mentioned herein.
- Applicability of Warranty:
- The Warranty shall apply only:
- To the end user / beneficiary of the Products i.e. the owner of the site on which theProducts have been applied (“Customer”).
- If the total volume of Product usage on a particular site exceeds 300 litres on a single site.
- If the Registration for request for warranty is made by the Customer 15 days prior to the commencement of application of the Product and
- If the quantity of Products used for particular size of area is in accordance with the parameters defined in the relevant technical data sheet (“TDS”)) for the Products. Customer must ensure the contractor carries out application as per TDS of theProduct being used.
- If all the exterior walls of the building/s is also treated with the Product
- If the application of Product is on exterior wall surfaces only.
- If the Product is purchased either directly from the Company or through its authorized channel partners.
- Upon satisfactory completion of the 3 stage inspection of the exterior surface undergoing waterproofing by the authorized representative of the Company following the registration of warranty. All vertical walls of the building including all horizontal protrusions like chajjas/sunshades must be coated with the Product as per the Technical Data Sheet.
- If a claim is made forthwith, however not later than 30 (Thirty) days of the Customer discovering any defect, damage or failure which gives rise to a claim, the Customer shall provide full details thereof, setting out the basis for the claim. The Company reserves the right to carry out inspections of the application process of the Product, in which the relevant Product is alleged to have failed and to perform any tests in respect thereof, and may do so either itself or by means of any person nominated by it.
- The warranty will be valid only in the following places in India
Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nasik, Goa, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Kochi, Trivandrum, Kozhikode, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Noida, Kolkata, Siliguri, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, Patna, Indore, Bhopal, Raipur
- Commencement and Duration
- This Warranty shall commence from the date of first purchase of the Products by the Customer (Commencement Date) provided Product is consumed within 90 days of the date of purchase and shall be subject to the conditions mentioned herein.
- The Warranty shall be applicable for a specific period as detailed above, from the Commencement Date on all performance parameters as detailed herein. It is clarified that where any claim arises during the warranty period, the period will commence only from the Commencement Date of warranty even after settlement of the claim.
- Exclusions
- The Products under this warranty are application based and might be affected by various external factors or combinations thereof.
- The Warranty will be void in the following events:
- Intermittent dripping of water due to proximity of vegetation or air-conditioning units or any other sources of water leakage like potted plants, plants or water flow from overhead tank etc.
- Water penetration due to capillary rise from the ground level, including water leakage, seeping and continuous dampness of the surface.
- Growth of algae or fungus on surfaces other than exterior walls where the Products have been applied.
- The Product is not consumed within 90 (ninety) days from the date of purchase.
- Dampness from internal walls due to leakages from bathrooms, kitchens etc.
- In case a portion of the surface has not been treated with the Product.
- Fading and chalking as a result of use of Products in coastal areas.
- Liability
- The Company’s maximum liability is limited to the repair of the Coating Failure (including labour cost) in the affected portion to the extent of the value equal to the original purchase price of the Products (“replacement cost”). The Company shall not have any other liability or responsibility irrespective of any representation or assurance given by any party.
- The Company’s liability will reduce over the warranty period according to the following scaleas per the applicable Product:

- The Customer will be liable for all other costs excluding Product replacement cost and labour as covered in this document.
- The Company will not be liable for any other cost or indirect or consequential loss or incidental damages or any loss of income, profits or contracts to the Customer or to any other person. Notwithstanding anything mentioned herein, the Customer's exclusive and sole remedy under this Warranty shall be as mentioned in Clause II - Warranty and no other express or implied warranty is provided.
- This Warranty disclaims any liabilities, in contract, tort or otherwise including negligence and strict liability. There are no warranties expressed or implied under law, which extend beyond the warranty set out herein
- General Provisions:
- If any dispute arises between the Company and the Customer, in respect of the Warranty, the decision of Mr. Sanjay Bahadur, CEO of Construction Chemical division, Pidilite Industries Limited will be final and binding.
- This warranty shall be subject to the exclusive Jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai.
- The facts and all matters concerning any dispute will be kept confidential by both the Customer and the Company at all times.
- Terms, Conditions and other provisions of the warranty are subject to change
- Any reference to Company shall mean Pidilite Industries Limited
- To Register Warranty (This section is only for the information of the Customer and shall not affect the interpretation of the sections hereinabove. In case of any conflict between this section and the prior ones, the prior sections will prevail.)
- For Registration of a site call our Dr. Fixit Advice Centre on 1800-209-5504 and provide Customer name, contact details and approximate exterior surface area to be coated.
- Registration of Request for warranty to be made by the Customer 15 days prior to the commencement of application of the Products.
- In order to make this warranty valid, as per terms outlined, it is essential that request for Registration of Warranty is being made by the Customer.
- The Company's representative will pre-inspect the surface to be coated and if the inspection is satisfactory, handover the Products check list provided. In case the pre-inspection is found to be unsatisfactory, corrective measures will be suggested and additional pre-inspection will be carried out till site conditions are satisfactory to proceed with Raincoat application for registration of warranty.
- Note
- The pre inspection checklist/report is only for water proofing and should not be used as a substitute for proper structural check/audit of the building.
- Satisfactory pre-application inspection shall be conducted 7 days prior to the commencement of the work
- Satisfactory inspection during Products application should be conducted after completion of each coat days from the commencement of the application.
- Satisfactory post-application inspection should be conducted within ten working days of the completion of the application
- Inspection under this Warranty to be carried out by the Company’s representative assigned to the site.
- Final warranty certificate will be issued after satisfactory validation of completed site by authorized representative of the Company. Such validation does not imply approval by the Company of the method of application or compliance with the conditions of warranty but is merely a validation of proper purchase entitling the Customer to the warranty in accordance with the terms and conditions of this warranty.
- The Company at its sole discretion may appoint a person to inspect and validate the application of the Products as per the directions specified.
- Upon registration, a Unique Warranty Id will be generated, which will be the reference code for the Customer for future communication.
- The customer shall attach stamped receipt of purchase to the warranty letter and retain the same during tenure of the warranty.
- The Customer may call on 1800-209-5504 if he experiences a problem or have any questions regarding the Warranty. An authorized representative of the Company would contact the Customer within 7 (seven) working days from the date of enquiry.

INSPECTION Checklist for Dr. Fixit Raincoat work procedure
Areas of application: All exterior cement-sand plastered walls / concrete surfaces
Pre-application -Checklist: Do's and Dont's
- All cementitious substrates to be well cured at least for 6 – 8 weeks
- Check for external and internal plumbing leakages if any and to be rectified properly
- Check soundness of plaster. De-bonded plaster to be repaired appropriately
- Check the existing paint -Cement paint if any, to be removed as best as possible.
- Coating not recommended on synthetic enamels, bituminous paints
- Coating not recommended on any putty applied and on very smooth surfaces
- Confirm with the client about the desired shades for the various elevation of building
- Confirm the shades selected by physical sampling at site and retain the sample.
- Carry out proper surface preparation - like widening the cracks with 'V' groove, cleaning thoroughly with clean water and application of crack filler or polymermodified mortar as required
- Ensure chajjas, overhangs, etc. are properly sloped, angle fillet at joints.
- Ensure crack filling is done with crack filler and for cracks > 5mm by polymer modified mortar
- Ensure proper curing of all repairing works
- Plan for proper manpower arrangement to carry out the job
- Ensure for sufficient quantity of safety gear like safety belts, helmets etc.
- Prepare a schedule of the work with bar chart, for the entire job
- Assess the quantity of all materials required for the job and check its availability
During application -Checklist:
- Note batch nos and manufacturing dates of all materials received at site
- Ensure proper curing of all repairing works
- Clean the area with removal of dust, algae, efflorescence etc. and clean with water
- Ambient temperature during application shall not be too low (<5℃) or too high (>40℃)
- Do not apply during rainy season or if there is risk of raining as it will spoil the work
- Saturate the surface well with water prior to application
- Shake well the contents before opening and stir well during mixing and application Ensure that coating work starts early morning (7.00 AM) to avoid coating under direct sunlight.
- Plan in a way that direct sunlight during coating is avoided.
- Apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Primeseal diluting 2 parts primer : 1 part water of, in case of fresh painting with the Raincoat
- Pot life of mixed primer is about 45 minutes hence consume the material within stipulated time period
- Ensure proper coverage of primer – 8-10 m2 /ltr / coat
- Allow to dry for 4 to 6 hrs
- Shake well the contents before opening and keep stirring during application
- Apply one coat of Dr. Fixit Raincoat Universal base coat without any dilution with a coverage of 3.5 to 4 sq m per Litre. Allow it to dry for 6-8 hours before applying Dr.Fixit Raincoat Select at a coverage of 6-6.5 sq m per Litre
- Allow air curing for 7 days
Post Application Checklist :
- Note date of completion of coating
- Check appearance of the surface for – finish, lustre, levelling, opacity etc so as to get no telegraphing and uniform finish
- Ensure that containers and brushes are properly cleaned.
- Ensure proper cleaning of area (house-keeping).
- The waste material has not been thrown down the drain but disposed off properly.
- List of do & don’ts to take care and take corrective measures if any faults observed
Precautions and limitations:
- “Do not Dilute” Dr. Fixit Raincoat range
- Stir contents well before use
- Do not apply on very smooth and putty applied surfaces
- Avoid coating on damp substrates
- Apply Dr. Fixit Raincoat within 48 hrs of Primeseal application.
- Apply extra coat on rain lashed walls and on critical areas like parapet / chhajjas etc.
- The coverage may vary according to the nature and texture of substrate.
- Ensure proper coverages of material by conducting a trial prior to execution of work to derive coverage for guesstimating the material consumption.

- Warranty:
- The Warranty is for the replacement of the Product of an amount equivalent to the Product cost and the labour costs for re-application of the Product due to CoatingFailure in the affected portion only.
"Coating Failure" shall mean the following:-
- Film integrity, flaking, peeling and blistering of the Products, caused by one coat of the Product coming off from another or the Product film coming off from the substrate
- Growth of fungi and algae on wall surfaces* (at least spread over contiguous area of a minimum area of10 sq feet) on all Products listed above.
- Failure of waterproofing, viz., water ingress from exteriors through the coatings in exterior walls.
- The aforesaid labour costs.
will be determined by the Company based on prevailing market labour rates on per sq.ft. rate or on daily wages rate and the same will not be disputed by the Customer (as defined hereinafter) at any point of time. - The warranty will not cover Coating Failure due to factors which are beyond the control of the Company, including but not limited to:
- Structural defects, moss and other vegetative growth, excessive bird droppings/spitting, water leakage and seepage in the building structure and continuous dampness of the surface, staining due to plant pots, efflorescence, water-logging / stagnant water.
- Natural calamities such as earthquakes, cyclones and flooding
- Failure or defects in the structure or previous coating, or any repair work undertaken or removal or tampering with any part of the treated portion.
- Damage caused by vandalism, accidents and fire
- Acts of God
- Abuse or negligence by the Customer
- Improper surface preparation
- Surface with contaminants
- Normal wear and tear
- Misuse of the Products
- Wilfully inflicted damage
- Exposure to chemicals, acids or fumes
- Failure to follow instructions/TDS
- Any act or omission on the part of the contractor/painter causing Products or theapplication of Products, to be defective by any means.
- The Warranty shall be subject to the terms, conditions and provisions mentioned herein.
- Applicability of Warranty:
- The Warranty shall apply only:
- To the end user / beneficiary of the Products i.e. the owner of the site on which theProducts have been applied (“Customer”).
- If the total volume of Product usage on a particular site exceeds 300 litres on a single site.
- If the Registration for request for warranty is made by the Customer 15 days prior to the commencement of application of the Product and
- If the quantity of Products used for particular size of area is in accordance with the parameters defined in the relevant technical data sheet (“TDS”)) for the Products. Customer must ensure the contractor carries out application as per TDS of theProduct being used.
- If all the exterior walls of the building/s is also treated with the Product
- If the application of Product is on exterior wall surfaces only.
- If the Product is purchased either directly from the Company or through its authorized channel partners.
- Upon satisfactory completion of the 3 stage inspection of the exterior surface undergoing waterproofing by the authorized representative of the Company following the registration of warranty. All vertical walls of the building including all horizontal protrusions like chajjas/sunshades must be coated with the Product as per the Technical Data Sheet.
- If a claim is made forthwith, however not later than 30 (Thirty) days of the Customer discovering any defect, damage or failure which gives rise to a claim, the Customer shall provide full details thereof, setting out the basis for the claim. The Company reserves the right to carry out inspections of the application process of the Product, in which the relevant Product is alleged to have failed and to perform any tests in respect thereof, and may do so either itself or by means of any person nominated by it.
- The warranty will be valid only in the following places in India
Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nasik, Goa, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Kochi, Trivandrum, Kozhikode, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Noida, Kolkata, Siliguri, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, Patna, Indore, Bhopal, Raipur
- Commencement and Duration
- This Warranty shall commence from the date of first purchase of the Products by the Customer (Commencement Date) provided Product is consumed within 90 days of the date of purchase and shall be subject to the conditions mentioned herein.
- The Warranty shall be applicable for a specific period as detailed above, from the Commencement Date on all performance parameters as detailed herein. It is clarified that where any claim arises during the warranty period, the period will commence only from the Commencement Date of warranty even after settlement of the claim.
- Exclusions
- The Products under this warranty are application based and might be affected by various external factors or combinations thereof.
- The Warranty will be void in the following events:
- Intermittent dripping of water due to proximity of vegetation or air-conditioning units or any other sources of water leakage like potted plants, plants or water flow from overhead tank etc.
- Water penetration due to capillary rise from the ground level, including water leakage, seeping and continuous dampness of the surface.
- Growth of algae or fungus on surfaces other than exterior walls where the Products have been applied.
- The Product is not consumed within 90 (ninety) days from the date of purchase.
- Dampness from internal walls due to leakages from bathrooms, kitchens etc.
- In case a portion of the surface has not been treated with the Product.
- Fading and chalking as a result of use of Products in coastal areas.
- Liability
- The Company’s maximum liability is limited to the repair of the Coating Failure (including labour cost) in the affected portion to the extent of the value equal to the original purchase price of the Products (“replacement cost”). The Company shall not have any other liability or responsibility irrespective of any representation or assurance given by any party.
- The Company’s liability will reduce over the warranty period according to the following scaleas per the applicable Product:
Raincoat Select:
- In the first 12 months after Commencement Date - 100% of replacement cost
- After month 12 to month 24 after Commencement Date - 80% of replacement cost
- After month 24 to month 36 after Commencement Date - 60% of replacement cost
- After month 36 to month 48 after Commencement Date - 40% of replacement cost
- After month 48 to month 60 after Commencement Date - 30% of replacement cost
- After month 60 to month 84 after Commencement Date - 20% of replacement cost
- The Company, in its sole discretion shall be entitled to appoint a contractor and / or approve the contractor appointed by the Customer.
- The Customer will be liable for all other costs excluding Product replacement cost and labour as covered in this document.
